LUKE....Its is your birthday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to  MARK HAMILL,

better known as Dorothy Hamill's little brother* and also one of the most iconic characters in Sci -Fi history; LUKE SKYWALKER
Hamill, who rose from little-known actor to icon with the 1977 release of "Star Wars," was born on September 25, 1951.
A little trivia for ya....
He did all his own stunts in Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (1983) -- except two places: where "Luke Skywalker" jumps off the plank into the Sarlaac, turns, and flips back onto the plank and on the Death Star when Vader throws his saber at the supports of the catwalk.

He was originally cast as David on "Eight Is Enough" (1977), and asked to be released from his contract before Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977) came out because he sensed the movie would be successful, and Hamill wanted to focus on his movie career. ABC refused to release him from his contract, thinking that having a successful movie star connected with the show would help "Eight is Enough" (1976). Hamill was then in a car crash in December 1976 and injured his face. This made him unavailable for shooting the TV series, and ABC was forced to recast the role of David, which then went to Grant Goodeve.

Has actually played two roles in the Star Wars trilogy. That's Mark's voice on the P.A. system announcing that "The first transport is away," in Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back-The Special Edition (1997).

He has played the same character (the Joker)
on seven different television series: "Batman" (1992), "Superman" (1996), "The New Batman Adventures" (1997), "Static Shock" (2000), "Justice League" (2001), "Birds of Prey" (2002) and "Robot Chicken" (2005). And quite frankly  I  think he is an ultimate badass as the Joker!

He has even been on The Muppet Show!

Oh yeah my  little sister used to  be in LOVE  with him too....lol...oh she is going to  kill me for telling that.
We both watched Empire Strikes Back every Sunday for almost 4 years...and yes, THAT means I  have been a Fanboy  for a long time!
We all know him as Luke Skywalker, but Hamill has delighted Fanboys  the world over lending his voice to  such  shows as:

The Boondocks (TV series)

Mr. Medicinal (2010) … Grant (voice)
The New Woody Woodpecker Show (TV series)
Buzz Buzzard / Badger

2009 Afro Samurai: Resurrection (TV movie)
Bin (voice: English version) / Oden Shop Master (voice: English version)

Fire Lord Ozai / Phoenix King Ozai**

as well as The Simpsons....(of course)

* and no Mark Hamil is indeed NOT related to  Dorothy Hamil....sheesh get a grip Fanboy, I  was just  kidding!

**I  had no idea that he played Firelord Ozai,

damn, I  LOVE that  show....too bad the live-action film STUNK ON ICE.... but that  is a rant for another time!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARK RICHARD HAMILL! AND MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU, ALWAYS....

Is it me or is he starting to  look more and more like Obi-Wan?

Does Hugh Jackman need cash??

Take Popular 1970's childhood toy Rockem-Sockem Robots,

and cross it with ROCKY

and add  Hugh Jackman (X-Men/Wolverine)

and  you  have REAL STEEL?

....seriously? Did Hugh Jackman lose a bet?  I mean first BATTLESHIP Starring Liam Neeson (how the bloody  hell do you  go  from being Qui-Gon Jin to that?) I mean this seems like a role for Matt Le Blanc or something. I mean I  know it isnt out yet, and I haven't  seen it, but this just  looks kinda stupid. Ya know I  didnt see STEEL when it first  came out either (starring Shaq) but i  kinda didn't have to see it to  know that it was probably  going to  "Stink on ice." Athough I did actually see KAZAAM*

.......don't judge me.

So  what movies do we have to look forward to now? wait, lemme guess, Chutes and Ladders starring Keannu Reeves? or maybe Hungry Hungry Hippos, starring Ernest Borgnine?  I  got it, OPERATION starring Johny Depp.

Okay, well apparently Hugh Jackman's character is a struggling promoter who thinks he's found a champion in a discarded robot. A future-set story where robot boxing is a popular sport. During his hopeful rise to the top, he also discovers he has an 11-year-old son who wants to know his father.

riiiiiiight...

this sounds more and more like a movie Nic Cage would be in.
Like nipples on a Bat-suit**....this sees like  bad idea

* and I  didn't say  I liked KAZAAM, I just said I  saw it...
** thank you Joel Shoemocker.

REAL STEEL in theaters October 7th

9-11 Remeberance 2011

I remeber where i was on September Eleventh 2001...
I was taking a shower and was listening to the MJ show on the radio when I heard it and thought it was a really bad joke at first...but when i got out of the shower, I turned the TV on and saw the second plane crash into the second tower...My sister lived in New York at that  time and I have a few friends who live there, so this struck me on a very personal level. No one I  knew personally was injured or killed from the attacks, but it honestly still gives me chills and I tear up at remembering what happened...

The September 11 attacks (also referred to as September 11, September 11th or 9/11 were a series of four coordinated suicide attacks upon the United States in New York City and Washington, D.C. on September 11, 2001. On that Tuesday morning, 19 terrorists from the Islamist militant group al-Qaeda hijacked four passenger jets. The hijackers intentionally crashed two planes, American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175, into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City; both towers collapsed within two hours. Hijackers crashed American Airlines Flight 77 into the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia. The fourth jet, United Airlines Flight 93, crashed into a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania after passengers attempted to take control before it could reach the hijacker's intended target in Washington, D.C. Nearly 3,000 died in the attacks.

9-11 comics emerged following the terrorist attacks in New York City, Washington DC, and Pennsylvania on Tuesday, September 11, 2001, and cartoonists turned to art to express their grief and support.

Marvel Comics produced three charity books, Heroes, The Amazing Spider-Man #36 and A Moment of Silence. Heroes was a book of sixty-four full-page illustrations paying tribute to those who attempted to save lives on 9-11.

The profits from sales of the comic went to 9-11 based charities. The Amazing Spider Man #36 explores how Spider-Man and other Marvel characters like Captain America, Daredevil, Doctor Doom and Magneto react in the aftermath of the attacks; and A Moment of Silence features four wordless stories reflecting different perspectives on September 11th, all inspired by true events.

Proceeds from the sale of all of these comics went to the World Trade Center Relief Fund, Survivors Fund, September 11th Fund, Twin Towers Fund

We will never forget...
